Selection of the species (large herbivores)

The task of the Large Herbivore Foundation is to protect the large herbivore species in Eurasia and turn the threat of extinction into their rehabilitation and preservation. In these webpages all large herbivores, living in Eurasia are described. The source of these descriptions is the large herbivore Foundation's Status Report2007 of the Large Herbivores of the Palaearctic (Franchimon et all.,2007).

The species, as mentioned in the table below are now being reviewed. We expect the updated population figures and descriptions in the course of January2010. During the first halve of2010 the description of these species will be updated too. The species in bold will be updated first.

We invite you to give your comments on the texts in the different factsheets. Please make use of the forms of each of the pages. We are also looking forward to illustration materials of the species and the landscapes.
